I am Matthew Morris, the owner of Gold Country Window Systems, and I have over twenty six years experience in window and patio door sales. My experience in the building industry actually began working in the summers for my father, who was a builder as well as a teacher of building trades, woodworking, printing and drafting. I went on to work summers during college for various contractors, and in a retail paint and glass store. Upon graduating from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in 1970, I went on to work for over a decade in the retail and wholesale grocery business.
Prior to starting Gold Country Window Systems in 2005, I worked for four different window companies, including a local glass and window company, a major manufacturer of wood windows, a specialty millwork and window company, and a full line window retailer as manager for contractor sales. For over two decades I have received training from some of the most knowledgeable people in the window industry. This background has led me to choose the brands I carry based on their qualities, features and warranties, as well as how they respond to service issues. I feel that a product’s relative value is a result of all of these factors and I have chosen product lines that offer these features over a range of price points. As a result of my training and experience, I have gained a special expertise in wood and clad wood windows and patio doors, as well as composite, vinyl and aluminum window and patio door products. I also have experience with remodeling, restoration projects, historic window applications and commercial projects.
I have lived in Placer and Nevada counties for over thirty years. My son, his wife and my grandson also live in the area, and I spend as much of my free time as possible with my grandson Emmett, who is five years old. My family and I enjoy canoeing and camping in the Sierra Nevada in our spare time.
